The island of Syros is just 2 and a half hours by fast ferry from the port of Pireaus (central Greek port), a 4 hour journey by onventional ship and only 25 minutes by plane. Situated only 11 km from Ermoupolis the capital city of Syros and of the Cycladean island complex, on the southern coast of Syros is the seaside resort “Megas Gialos” which is one of the most beautiful resorts on the island.

“Megas Gialos” is characterized by its crystal clear waters and idyllic sandy beach, which is lined with trees that provide shade for those who wish to avoid sitting in the hot summer sun. TRANSPORTATION
The island`s local transportation system, which consists of buses running every 30 minutes, provides safe and inexpensive transportation to and from all the resorts on the island for those who choose not to rent a vehicle.

- All boats for Syros (Cyclades) are departing from the port of Piraeus. The High-Speed boats need only 2.5 hours and costs around 44-45€. There are also regular ferry boats that need almost 4 hours to go to Syros and the ticket costs 30-32€. In June there will be at least 2 high-speed boats from Piraeus to Syros on 07:15 and 17:30 respectively and one or maybe 2 ferry boats. In any case you should go from Athens airport to Piraeus, which is a 40 - 50€ (about 1 hour) trip by taxi, or you may use the train combined with the metro, or to take a direct bus from the airport to the port. Both of these two alternatives will cost you significantly less. From Mykonos island: Duration of trip from Mykonos port to Syros Island is 45m (by high speed Boat) and 1h30m (by boat)
